More than 90 organizations dedicated to promoting universal human rights and / or the fight against corruption, including the WatchdogMD NGO, have signed to express firm support for the Foreign Affairs Council to initiate a process to set up an EU-level program to impose sanctions against persons and entities considered to be responsible for serious human rights violations.
As we have seen in the countries that have adopted and have so far enforced laws on the Global Magnitsky Act, a comprehensive human rights and anti-corruption program can serve as a vital addition to the core set of diplomatic and legal tools for support for human rights and the rule of law.
We remind that WatchdogMD together with other organizations in Moldova have drafted the law on Global Magnitsky act for Moldova in July 2018.
