The index reveals the level of information transparency in energy sectors of three Eastern Partnership countries \u2013 Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The energy transparency index refers\r\nto the information openness regarding the electricity and natural gas markets. It\r\nis calculated on the basis of more than 200 indicators (117 indicators applicable\r\nto the Republic of Moldova). The index assesses the availability and\r\ncompleteness of the information to be made public by the authorities and\r\nlicensed companies, according to EU legislation and OECD best practices.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Conducting the periodic assessment\r\nof transparency index of energy markets should become an established practice,\r\nenhancing the transparency and evaluating the progress of national governments\r\nin reforming the energy sector. Additionally to Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia, the\r\nnew edition will emphasize the energy sector of EU member Romania.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The presentation of the final report\r\nfor 2021 Energy Transparency Index is scheduled for March 2022. The project is\r\nimplemented by Ukrainian think-tank Dixi Group, with the financial support of\r\nthe European Union and Black Sea Trust for Regional Cooperation.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Community WatchDog.MD together with regional partners developed the first edition\u00a0of the energy transparency index in 2020.
